Calendar Notifications

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Calendar Notifications is a macOS application that provides persistent reminders for upcoming meetings from a user's Google Calendar. This Privacy Policy explains what Google user data Calendar Notifications accesses, how that data is used, how it is stored, and how it is protected.

Google user data accessed by Calendar Notifications

When you connect a Google account, Calendar Notifications accesses only the Google user data needed to provide its meeting-reminder features.

Calendar Notifications requests the following Google OAuth scopes:

Calendar Notifications does not request permission to create, modify, or delete Google Calendar events.

How Calendar Notifications uses Google user data

Calendar Notifications uses Google user data only to provide the application's user-facing calendar reminder functionality:

Google user data is not used for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes. Calendar Notifications does not create, modify, or delete Google Calendar events.

Local processing and storage

Google Calendar event data is processed locally on your Mac. Calendar Notifications does not upload Google Calendar event data to a developer-operated backend and does not maintain a server-side database of your calendar events.

Google authorization credentials needed to keep your connected account signed in are stored locally on your Mac using encrypted storage backed by macOS security services. Local application preferences may also store settings and limited account metadata, such as the email address associated with a connected account.

How data is shared

Calendar Notifications does not sell Google user data, share Google user data for advertising, or provide your Google Calendar content to third parties for their own use. The app communicates with Google services only as necessary to authenticate your account and retrieve the Calendar data required for its features.

When you choose to open a meeting or event link, macOS opens that destination outside Calendar Notifications using your system's normal link-handling behavior.

Data retention and deletion

Calendar event data is used for current application functionality and is not maintained as a historical server-side record by Calendar Notifications. Saved Google authorization credentials remain on your Mac while an account is connected.

You can disconnect a Google account from within Calendar Notifications. Disconnecting removes the application's saved local authorization credentials for that account and makes a best-effort request to revoke the associated Google authorization. You can also manage or revoke the app's access from your Google Account.

Security

Calendar Notifications is designed to minimize access to Google user data. It uses read-only Calendar access, encrypts saved Google authorization credentials using macOS-backed secure storage, and keeps Google Calendar processing local to the application rather than sending calendar data to an application-operated backend.

Analytics and advertising

Calendar Notifications does not include a developer-operated analytics or advertising service and does not use Google user data for advertising.

Google API Services

Calendar Notifications' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google Workspace API data obtained by Calendar Notifications is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if Calendar Notifications changes how it accesses or uses information. The current version will remain available at this URL, and the "Last updated" date will be revised when material changes are made.
